Rachel Rodgers Shares 3 Changes You Need to Make to Become a Millionaire

Do you feel like you never have enough time or energy to take actions that will make you more money?

Rachel Rodgers, author of We Should All Be Millionaires, says this is the trap most people—especially women—fall into early on in their careers.

Get the job. Go to work. Get promoted. It all seems so simple, so formulaic at the beginning. But when reality sets in, you realize there was so much more you could have been doing to obtain financial security and financial freedom for yourself.

As is evident in the title of her first book, Rodgers not only believes we should all be millionaires, but also that you can become a millionaire in less time than you think. According to Rodgers, those who can say they have a net worth of at least one million dollars have something in common: they’ve made three crucial life and mindset changes.

Watch her speak about these changes on Good Morning America

Life change #1: Set boundaries

Rodgers says when we don’t set boundaries, we give away our power. In her book, she teaches readers about Million Dollar Boundaries.

A Million Dollar Boundary is “a declaration to yourself and others (friends, family, boss, and so on) where you clearly state what you will do, and won’t do, in a given situation.”

Rodgers gives several examples of these boundaries and how to set them in We Should All Be Millionaires.

Life change #2: Build your squad

Many leaders reference the popular Jim Rohn quote, but Rodgers takes it a step further. Your success isn’t solely determined by who you spend your time with but how you spend your time with those people and what you take away from it.

An hour spent with your personal trainer friend talking about her most recent breakup is much less productive than if she was guiding you through a really tough workout.

“With clear intentions and key action steps, you can build a supportive, resourceful network of women to connect and consult with every day.”

Life change #3: Make more million dollar decisions

Sure, your daily Starbucks coffee dings your bank account. But that’s a minor blow compared to the other bad moves you’re either consciously or unconsciously making in your life such as:

  • Wanting everyone to like you
  • Hanging out with people who make bad decisions
  • Living in an environment that discourages your success

In We Should All Be Millionaires, Rodgers describes what a Million Dollar Decision is and explains exactly how readers can begin making them so they can build wealth.
